SNCF is the French Railway service, it is great and not so hard to learn about it and to have tickets, informations, even by Internet, but some points which could really help a first time user of the French Railways:1-Some trips and destinations are by TGV always, and some by normal trains, it depends on the direction and city2-Never forget to composte your Ticket before getting on the Train, as it could coast you a hard Tax of 40 Euro, almost a Price of a one way Trip3-Never think of Discounts if you are older than 25 Years Old4-If you want to buy a year ticket of discounts, it is good but you will be forced to travel only in Saturday nights and get back in the Sunday morning!so please take notice, and Happy Traveling in France!

casino is the name of the supermarkets that you can find in every French city, my advice for you is always to search for Marche + suppermarkets it is the same quality with a better price for the same products!

Everything closes in France between 12 noon and 2.00pm for lunch, a serious business if you are running out of petrol or break down....... however, a good time to travel if you are trying to cover long distances as everyone else seems to be off the road, except for the caravans. No shops open on Mondays either..... Wednesday is the Jour des Enfants when the schools close from midday and the place is inundated with kids
