Expatriates Telephone Search Engine

by balisunshine

Expatriates Telephone Search Engine. It's one of a kind. An engine based on placing international calls from international locations, not just from the United States as most telephone search engines are programmed to do. It gives you the calling code instructions from each of the world's nations to any other nation. In addition this engine allows you to search every on-line telephone directory in the world. (Over 700 directories) Plus it gives you an instant link to all of the embassies of the nation you are calling, the lowest international rates for your call, and a link to that countries voltage for those who are planning on traveling or relocating to that nation. We designed this engine with expatriates in mind, but it will work for anyone.Serch Engine

AUSTRIA > Graz > Schloss Eggenburg

by globetrott

Schloss Eggenberg is the most beautiful palace in Graz. It dates back to the year 1623 and its architecture is quite unique :The 4 seasons ofthe year are symbolized by the 4 towers, 12 gates were built because of the 12 months and 365 windows are all over the building. The architect was Pietro de Pomis, a pupil of the famous italian Palladio. The interior of the palace is really wonderful with precious stucco-works, frescos, paintings and chandeliers. A visit in Eggenburg palace is a Must, including the guided tour, that will be held daily except mondays at 10.00 + 11.00 +12.00p.m. & 02.00 + 03.00 + 04.00p.m.Photography is NO problem - BUT only without flash !!Tel : +43 (0)316 583264 9532fax +43 (0)316 583264 9555

France

by johnsakura

France is still that place i want to see more. Although i have been to France already about 6 times, there are still much more i want to see. France is full of interesting small villages surrounded by great landscapes and people are quite nice. Things to watch out while here: crime in many cities is higher than normal, be careful in places like Paris Marseilles etc, bigger cities more crime.Transportation:bus and train system are both very good. TGV is a good and fast way of getting from the south to the north in a blink of an eye.Things to do and try: try baguette with Camembert cheese, west coast of France, Picasso museum Paris, Rodin sculpture museum Paris. Versailles palace; Le Puy-en-Velay city, Pradelles village in Auvergne.

Spain

by johnsakura

Spain is my neighbour country. I often say we have the perfect neighbours. Spanish people are something we Portuguese are not, although we like how they are. They have internal fire we don't have, although we could give them a bit of how nostalgic feelings also... hehe. Fado against flamenco has no comparison, and this can be one of the major differences about this 2 people living side by side. listen both to flamenco and fado and you'll see our differences right away!in Spain with will be very easy to loose the sense of where you are and get lost in the immense fields and valleys enjoying its amazing mountains and medieval cities, castles and sun. Spain is extremely diverse. People are strongly different from the south going to the North centre west and east. In Spain exist a few languages: Castilian, known around the world as Spanish, El Euskera has the Basque language, Catalan,...

Portugal

by johnsakura

Well, of course that writing about Europe I would start with my country. Portugal is a place with very interesting experiences that you cant have anywhere else in Europe. the mood when you cross the border from Spain changes completely and that will mark your passage in this small country full of smooth nice people, great landscapes either from the sandy beaches in the south Algarve, more sand beaches in the less discovered west coast of Costa Alentejana, more sandy beaches in the north hehe (keeps on going beaches everywhere). In the north beaches are perfect for surf lovers. Guincho and Nazare are a must. castles... yes castles exist everywhere you find a small village. there are hundreds of castles in Portugal and this great scenarios will make you photo camera going non stop. try castelo dos mouros in Sintra (XI century Moorish castle), try castelo de Almorol (XII Templar castle),...

Skokloster, Sweden

by sim1

Castles of EuropeSkokloster CastleSwedenSkokloster is one of the most popular castles in Sweden, with a huge collections of painting, furniture and arms. The arms collection is one of the largest in Europe. Skokloster is also one of the best preserved seventeenth-century castles in Europe. So I didn't need any convincing, I really wanted to see this castle! It sounded perfect, but all in all I was a bit disappointed about my visit to Skokloster. The rooms were very dark as they didn't want to expose the interiors to too much light. That is something that I do understand, but it is a bit disappointing not being really able to see much. I also had a bit of bad luck with the guided tour. We took a guided tour in English, but our guide was probably very nervous and had this crazy giggle. She just kept on giggling, giggling and giggling. Every sentence ended with.....hihi hihi hihi hihi :-)...

Fiholm Castle, Sörmland, Sweden

by sim1

Castles of EuropeFiholm Castle (Sörmland)SwedenAnother castle called Fiholm, but this one is located on the south side of Lake Mälaren.I visited this Fiholm Castle during a bicycle tour from my home. It's not that far from where I live (about 10 - 15 kilometres), hahaha, if you don't mind the hills. Hmmm... they are not really hills I guess, hahaha, but it isn't flat either. But if you are from the Netherlands, like me, every bump in the road feels like a hill :-)It's a beautiful bicycle ride though, when you get close to the castle you can ride along the picturesque long lanes belonging to the castle. The estate of Fiholm was inherited in 1617 by Axel Oxenstierna. In 1640 they started building a big castle. In 1642 the two wings were constructed, but no main building was ever raised. Reason to this, as the stories goes, is the dispute Axel Oxenstierna and his son Johan. When the son was...

ATM-machines versus Traveller-cheques

by globetrott

The ONLY good reason to carry Traveller-cheques is to have some spare-money, that will be replaced by the insurance, in case that it is stolen. For the money you intend to spend in everyday-life abroad, the ATM-card is the very best ! TravellerCheques always have a quite high comission deducted , when you change them in a bank or at your hotel. In Austria the banks charge you about 10 Euros and sometimes even more for each transaction. So it could happen that you might want to simply change a TrallerCheques for 20 Euros and you will get cash of only 10 Euros. This might be different, when you go to cash them in an Amexco-bank, BUT there are only a very few of them in Europe. TravellerCheques were great a few years ago, now they are good only for a safe, seperate amount of money you use only in case of an emergency In my picture : Rothenburg ob der Tauber. These streets are rather small...
