Favorite thing: If you can walk an extra 10-15 minutes I suggest you park across the Main river from Palace and downtown area. One the weekend there is plenty of free parking along the streets and it is a pleasant walk down the river and across the bridge. You also get a nice view of the Palace from the bridge. I parked on Magnolienweg Street and walked along the Main up to the Willigisbrucke bridge. From her you can also walk down to the Schonbusch Park.
Fondest memory: Since I have only been there once but plan on going back I'm going to have to say it is the Stifts museum. For 2.50 Euro you can visit a very nice museum with the history of the area and some important art works and treasures.

Favorite thing: Aschaffenburg is a quite unknown and underrated place in the northwestern corner of Bavaria. It lies on the banks of the Main river and is the gate to the Spessart. Have a walk through the wounderful old historical centre and enjoy the picturesque architecture and great flair of the town.
Aschaffenburg was the location of several United States Army - some of them still exist, so do not be surprised when a lot of people speak English in town.

Favorite thing: Not far away from Aschaffenburg you can see this castle (1419-1432). This small medieval castle is one of the beauty spots of the Spessart forest south-east of Frankfurt. Around the castle are various opportunities for walks. The castle itself is still inhabited but some parts can be visited.
