The main feature of Bad Kissingen is the Kurhaus, the original spa in Bad Kissingen. The Kurhaus and it's surrounding gardens are the place people from all over Germany come to relax and well, drink the water. Outside the Kurhaus there is often an orchestra, filling the gardens with music, and chess playing with large, garden size pieces seems to be a favorite pastime of the guests. When it's busy, a Kurpass is required to enter the gardens.

Franz Rakoczy by weed6886 Franz Rakoczy is a very important personality in Bad Kissingen. His statue sits across from the mineral water fountain that bears his name. On the last July of every weekend the city hosts the Rakoczy festival for three days. The interesting thing is that Rakoczy was a Hungarian prince, who never even set foot in Bad Kissingen.

by weed6886 The catholic church is the dominant church in Bavaria. Every village, every town has a catholic church. So it's a bit unusual to see a Protestant church. There are a few in Bavaria, and one is located in Bad Kissingen. It's open 24 hours a day, and is a change from looking at all the catholic churches around. Directions: Behind the theater.

by weed6886 The Feuerturm was originally built in the 13th century as part of the city's fortifications. In 1850, the tower was then used as a firewatch and equipped with a bell. The last resident moved out of the tower in 1960. The tower, which is the last remaining from the original fortifications, now has another job critical to the survival of Bad Kissingen. The public bathroom is now located in the first floor. Directions: Across the street from the catholic church.
