Had a meal of 3 sausages and cabbage [ euro 4.80 ] plus beer 0.5L at euro 2 30. This is a private brewery of Privatbrauerei Fassla Bamberg. since 1649. In the same street across the road is another Brahaus but was satisfied with this one. Fass la has a coat of arms of a Dwarf rolling a beer barrel, in their website. The system of payment is each drink is a pen mark on your beermat, then you pay at the end of visit. There are also guest rooms in their hotel.
Dress Code: Casual.

This is the best club I have been to in Bamberg, as I always have fun. Hardly any Americans go there, and drinks are priced reasonably. It's more of a spot for the university students, so there is usually a lot of hot women there. They all know English, so if they say they don't speak it, that means they don't want to talk to you. They have live bands from time to time, and when they don't, they actually play a decent variety of music, so you don't get any of that annoying techno or hip hop. Most spots in Europe have a 2 song list of Usher's "Yeah" and a Black Eyed Peas song, but not here.

I have spent a lot of time in Germany (off and on for 4 years), and have been to a lot of different cities. Bamberg has some of the best beer in Germany. It is called RauCHbier, and is like bacon in a mug. I guess this is the special beer of Bamberg because I have not seen this beer in any other city. Also breweries can be found all through the city so you will not have a problem finding a place to sit and order this fresh beer.

I had never been in this part of own before as it is a bit out of the way for the casual tourist and with all my previous trips being relegated to winter, I did not want to spend an inordinate amount of time outside in the cold. But the summer beer garden season was in full swing on my last visit so I finally got up here on “the hill.” It is one of the cooler parts of town and when it’s warm, locals flock here. It just so happens that this small brewery is located in this same area. We were surprised to find a street festival going on that same night and it was actually hard to find the place. The whole area was jumping, Even inside the brewery, people were dancing on the tables to a Bavarian band. We just had one of their tasty house beers and though I would have loved to have another, maybe even join them on the table, D was tired from a full day of Bamberg beer hunting. Sometimes, it is time to go home.
Dress Code: Not that kind of table dancing. ;=>

Another great local brewpub with long wooden tables and loud upbeat clientele. The smoked beers here are a bit more restrained and they also have a nice everyday lager that is not smoked.
