This place has great quality Spanish/tapas style foods. The atmosphere is very nice, the people are not only professionals but they are fun and friendly as well!
Favorite Dish: They have the best tiramisu that I've ever tasted!

The main reason for visiting was to try the Rauchbier (smoked beer). That beer was a little disappointing, but I had to try it. The initial flavor was not too bad, but the aftertaste was about the same as smoked provolone. Not what I expected from a beer. Lunch was very good (brats and sauerkraut) as was the hefe weizen.

The Brasserie Bamberg is a very good restaurant. Here you can taste good German dishes like Rumpsteak (200 g)with French potatoes, vegetables and salad. Very good is also the pork. Very friendly staff in a happy atmosphere.

The "Bootshaus" in Bamberg is a cozy beergarden located in the Luisenpark with a splendid view on the river. They have a small but delicious standard menu, but the main advantage is the idyllic location. The Luisenpark itself is pretty and good for jogging and walking.

There are lots of restaurants and cafes in Bamberg. However there is one thing because of which Bamberg is famous. That is Rauchbier. It tastes like smoked ham and bier together. It depends totally on your taste if you like that or not..Some people say you need to try it three times to start liking this:-)) But you should try this at least once in your life!!
Health food makes me sick.

This brewery is located in a building dating 1400's and produces beer and offers food since then.
The are 4 old rooms where you can enjoy the taste of one of the few smoked bier in the world (only 9 breweries produce this kind of beer), and one of them was once part of a monastery. In summer you can also sit in a garden close to a barrel that's more than 500 years old!
Of course you can also get food together with the beer, that's anyway the real attraction of the place!

A short steep climb to reach the beer garden of the Spezial brewery is well worth the effort. You'll be rewarded by some excellent food, beer and views across the city. A good place to spend a sunny evening.

Yet another brewery, this one just a little way out of town in Wunderburg. On a sunny day walk along the canal banks for ten minutes or so and it's next to a church.
Inside very old and atmospheric, beer comes from a wooden barrel behind the bar. Outside is a lovely courtyard for fine weather.
Yet another great place to visit.

As I said in my hotel tip earlier this is a brewery that has accomodation too, and it's very good. Major problem for us was actually getting out of the place, twice a quick beer before we go out turned into OK we'll stop here to eat too. That tells you that food and drink excellent, good veggie choices for Mrs Bonio.
There's two rooms inside aswell as a covered drinking area on the way in and a courtyard for the good weather.

This is the Keller of the Wilde Rose restaurant in the city. It's short climb up to the hills around town and well worth it. Shady trees to sit under and good food and beer of course. Looks like live music sometimes too, none while we were there though. Opening time is 16: 00 midweek in good weather in the summer, 15:00 weekends.
