We didn't visit the Willbaldburg, because we had to cycle back and we wanted to visit the quarry that day.
It's situated up on a mountain. In former times, the bishops lived there (1355-1725). Today there are museums

Yeah - we found a fossil! yes, it's a little one, but imagine our happiness when being successful.
You can rent a hammer and a chisel at the quarry. It was a lot of fun, a must see for families with the kids! They were all working hard to find something.

What a fun for the whole family. We went to a quarry near Eichstaett to look for fossils. And we were lucky - we were succesful!

We went by bike to Eichstaett. The Altmuehl valley is beautiful - the quaint river and the mountains
