This little square is a great place to chill, take a coffee and just people watch. The buildings are typical Bavarian style with their contrasting colours.

I came across this restaurant by accident and it's location, with its outdoor seating bordered by the ruins of Erding's old city walls, promised to be the perfect place for dinner after being cooped up in a long international flight from the US. Ahh, the fresh air, hearing the birds sing, watching the sky turn dark, while I ate savory pork tenderloin in mushroom sauce. My two-year old daughter sampled items from everyones' plate and squeeled in delight when she noticed the little lights on above our heads. After a very filling meal, we walked through the archway in the ruins, down the stairs into a little park-like area heavily perfumed by the flowers growing there, to a little playground where my daughter was able to expend her energy. It was a perfect evening.

Erdinger Weissbräu is the world's largest wheat beer brewery and the beer is still brewed to traditional recipes, but now uses state-of-the-art technology. Erdinger Weissbier was first officially recorded in 1886 Erdinger Weissbräu in 1949. Today the company produces over 1.45 million hl and sells all over the world.

Favorite thing: There is evidence of prehistoric man in the Erding area dating back to c. 6000 BC, the actual town was founded in 1228-1230 AD and developed as an alternative route from Landshut to Munich. Erding became known as a border town, midway between the two rival cities. During the Thirty Years' War, the town was taken twice by Swedish troops, who plundered it and set it on fire.
