The Swedish column

Going from the west gate towards the church entrance, we have passed a stone column.
The so-called Swedish Column is a reminder of the Swedish invasion that took place in 1632 during the Thirty Years' War.

It is said that at that moment in time one of the brothers was persecuted and killed for his beliefs by the enemy soldiers.

This is the monastery yard. What a silent and peaceful place to relax. And there were also just a hand of tourists here, so I liked it very much. Futher everything looks so clean and well-cared ... but it seems that EVERYTHING in Bavaria is clean and well-cared.

Have a look on picture and read the explaination: If you go straight you will come to the "Klosterladen"- the monastery-shop offering souvenirs, selling self-made liqueur and beer of corse ...
