I had been there several times. Avoid to go there during peak season, especially when there are vacation in Germany and during times around 11 am to 3 pm. Bus loads of tourists, especially batallions of camera loaded and flag waving Japanese groups are lining up. Ideal time to go there I personally find best early in the morning before 9 or late in the afternoon to join the first or the last guided tours
