Not far from Heilbronn is a town called Weinsberg. Easy to find, because it is next to the Autobahn junction. Surrounded by wine yards the hill is topped by the remnants of a castle called 'Weibertreu' which means women's fidelity. This name reminds of the year 1140 when in a war the castle fell and only the women were allowed to leave it with only what they could carry away on their back. And those brave women all took their husbands as their only backload. Leave a Comment

Not far north of Heilbronn are three little health spas. Bad Wimpfen, Bad Rappenau, Bad Friedrichshall. They all indicate that salt mining and mineral waters have played an important part in the economy of the region in former times. Also the names Heilbronn and Schwäbisch Hall refer to this origin.
