What we did yesterday, was a walk around the village, all in all about 16 km. It took us first to the beautiful "Oswaldhöhle", where we surprised some crazy people, uphill through the woods, then down to Zwecklesgraben, up to Quackenschloss, a romantic formation of stones. Then we go on to Adlerstein, a lookout over the valley which can be reached by a small staircase.
It's recommended to take a break in Engelhardsberg. There are two more restaurants on the way, but this one is the best.
After recharging energy, we leave the village heading for the Riesenburg (which seems like a gigantic castle born out of the rocks), down in the valley, we cross the river Wiesent and go on direction Doos, where we cross the river another time. Now we follow the river Aufseß to Kuchenmühle before we go uphill again to Albertshof and then straight back to Muggendorf.
