St. Michaelkirche, Munich
Favorite thing: Sorry about this pic's quality. Camera's 'no flash' setting truly deteriorates the image, but this interior was incredibly moving, a must see when in München. Photographs of wartime destruction found inside this magnificient church.
Michaelskirche is the only REAL Renaissance church in Germany. It was built between 1583 and 1597 by the Jesuits. The church has a single nave and the stucco interior is really vast.
Fondest memory: I simply love coloured windows in churches. Michaelskirche is full of coloured windows made of stained glass and, although the picture is not well-focused, I had to put it here... Check out my Siena rose-window too...
Favorite thing: Visit Michaelskirche (St. Michael's Church), built at the end of the 16th century. The church is located right in the middle between Karlsplatz and Marienplatz.
The Baroque interior of this church will amaze those who cross its threshold.
(Ok, I've gotta say it. "Even the mime pictured here was speechless...")
VISIT the Churches in the centre:
- St. Michael (Kaufinger Str.) and
- ASAMKIRCHE (200 m from St. Michael)
Fondest memory: very old, pretty, golden and Bavarian-Art Interieur!
