It's very popular idea in Europe last times, to have everything that saves energy or another things that keeps ecology. In Muenchen I saw this strange car, the ecological automobile, in the center of the city.

I got excited when I learned some German. Hoping you too.
Thank you=danke (pronounced as 'dan-kay')
Cheers (for beer)=broost
Good morning=guten morgen (pronounced as 'goo-ten mor-gin')
Train=bhan (read as 'baan')
Street=strasse
German language=deutsch
Germany=deutschland
(i found these two fascinating, you know I am Arab not European to understand why German websites end with 'de.' instead of 'ge'),lol.
I will add more words as soon as I remember,lol.

When I was staying with my friend in Germany and was ready to wash the dishes, I was looking for some plastic bowl/tray/box to mix the soap with some water. So I asked my friend and it turned to be that the German way of washing is different from the Saudi one.
In Germany, many people would block the basin, fill it with water, then mix it with some soap. All dishes and silvers will be placed into the filled basin. Bring some sponge and wash the dish inside this water. Then dry it with another piece of material or clothes.
I couldn't understand this as it were different from what I know back home in Saudi. My friend told me it reserves water more than my own way;^)
See the washing dishes tip in my Saudi page.
It might sound very funny, i know but very interesting. Cultural diversity even in dish washing!!

Germany has about a dozen classic styles of beer, some of which can be divided into several categories. "Bock" is a style of beer developed in Bavaria that was originally brewed in the late fall from the first malt and hops of the harvest. It was aged in deep caves throughout the winter and drunk in the spring. It was traditionally sold beginning on the first day of spring, which came to be known as Bock Beer Day. Bock beer season lasts for 6 weeks.

The "Biergarten", or beer gardens, are outdoor bars and also restaurants which serve German food and the finest German beers. They are very popular in Muenchen and attract lots of tourists. The beer there is brewed on site. Frequent goers earn their own bronze mug (it is almost a barrel!) It is at the biergartens that Germans sing, dance and have fun, tasting the delicious home beer and the pretzel bread.

We were advised by a local so forgive us if these are incorrect:
1)You seat yourself. You don't wait for a hostess.
2)You ask for your bill when ready you're ready to pay. You will not receive your bill otherwise.
3)For tips, round up your bill. You don't need to tip 15% because waiters/waitresses don't rely on tips for their livelihood like they do in the U.S.
4)Most drinks are served a room tempature.

The typical (second or brunch) breakfast has the following elements :
Weisswurst (white sausage)
Süsser enf (sweet mosterd)
Breztel
HB-Weissbier (HB white beer)
or Apfelschorle (sparkling appel juice)
or tea
I had the chance to eat it the day after the wedding of my friends at their home with their family...this kind of breakfast is allways a good moment shared with friendly people!

My favourite thing in Munich was the picnics we had in the beergardens. As Munich is kinda on the pricey side we could have never afforded to order everything we ate from the beergardens but we brought our own food. You are allowed to do so in most beergardens. Some people even bring table cloths and everything. We only brought cooked chickens and Pretzels and raddish, cheese etc etc.
Obviously you are not allowed to bring your own beer though ;)

A Wolpertinger is a crossing of several Bavarian animals (like a rabbit with deer horns) which only exist in people's minds. You can only hunt them at night, preferable full moon nights.
Here's one I found. Unfortunately the poor thing ended up in a tourist shop in Kaufinger Straße.

Be sure you are aware of store hours in case you find you need something urgent - in my case this was sunscreen on a very hot and sunny day. Most stores close at 5 PM and aren't open on Sundays - maybe even Saturdays?
You can sometimes find a gas station that will sell staples like snacks and some personal care items.
