A cow pasture right below the monastery by actualtourist The Andechs Monastery is on top of the hill overlooking Ammersee in Herrsching. Besides the church, there're a couple of restaurants and a beer garden where they serve the beers brewed at the monastery. Somehow the beer and church don't seem to match, but hey it's Bavaria and enjoy! To get to Andechs, take S5 to Herrsching. Just outside the S-Bahn station, there's a private bus line that goes to Andechs. Otherwise, the hike up to the monastery is very beautfiul, too. It took less than an hour for me to get down to the town, so I assume it will take about an hour (or a little more) to get up there. Leave a Comment

by Angelamtp1 The Bodensee is located on the northern edge of the Alps, where the borders of Germany, Austria and Switzerland come together. With an area of 539 square kilometres, it is the third-largest inland lake in Central eurospe. A particularly beautiful, 18-kilometre stretch of the shore in this ancient agricultural area belongs to Bavaria. Leave a Comment

by Gili_S The Englischer Garten, which is an English Garden in English, is the central park of Munich, it called probably English Gardens because it reminds a bit the Hide Park in London. It is nice place for a walk, for meeting people, playing some badminton, and of course for picnicking. Be aware that on a hot summer days people wear minimum cloths or nothing at all. Leave a Comment

Pavillion of Goddess Diana by draguza The Hofgarten in Munich is a garden in the center of the city between the Residenz and the Englischer Garten. The garden was built in 1613-1617 by Maximilian I, Elector of Bavaria as an Italian style Renaissance garden. In the center of the garden is a pavilion for the goddess Diana, built in 1615 by Heinrich Schön the elder. A path leads from each of the eight arches. On the roof of the Diana pavilion is the replica of a sculpture of Bavaria from Hubert Gerhard, created in 1623

Walking along the Isar! by Roeffie The Isar is the most important river floating through Munich. At hot days many people seek some cool spots on the water. The banks of the river Isar are very popular with the native Munchener. Clothed, Half naked, naked it doesn't matter in this town everyone sunbathes the way he or she likes. Here I am walking on the Wehrsteg near Museuminsel and Deutsches Museum! Leave a Comment

Deutsches Museum, Munich, Germany by cadiana88 The Me 262 was the world's first operational jet fighter. It was also the best of its generation, with an advanced aerodynamic design. Its development was much delayed, and the Me 262 arrived too late to influence the end of WWII. The few Me 262 used in combat demonstrated their clear superiority, but were unable achieve much more. Around 1430 built. Deutsches Museum von Meisterwerken der Naturwissenschaft und Technik (German Museum of Masterworks of Science and Technology) Museumsinsel 1 D-80538 München Leave a Comment

Deutsches Museum, Munich, Germany by cadiana88 The Me-109 was the best known and most produced German fighter of World War II. It was the backbone of the German fighter command and ruled the skies over Europe from 1939 to 1941, as Hitler spread his empire over the continent. The Me-109s earned the respect of Germany's enemies in every theater of conflict and were greatly feared by Allied bomber crews during the later half of the war. Designed by Willie Messerschmitt in 1934, the Bf 109 was first flown in September 1935. This prototype was powered by a Rolls-Royce Kestrel in-line engine because the engine that the Bf 109 was designed for, the Junkers Jumo 210, was not yet available. In July 1938, the firm that initiated the design (Bayerische Flugzeugwerke AG), was redesignated Messerschmitt AG, so later Messerschmitt designs often carried the prefix "Me" instead of "Bf." by Angelamtp1 The Starnberger See is the Bavarian capital Munich’s nearest lake. In the 17th and 18th centuries it was already very popular with the Munich court. In the summer this lake shore is packed with people! Leave a Comment
