The V-1 was an odd and ingenious weapon, designed to be cheaply built in large numbers. Early production items were largely made of metal, though wooden wings were quickly introduced. The V-1 was directed to its target by a simple guidance system, which incorporated a set of gyroscopes driven by compressed air to keep the missile stable; a magnetic compass to control bearing; and barometric altimeter to control altitude.

The V-2 or Aggregat 4, was the first long range ballistic missile to be actively used in combat. This huge German rocket hurtled a one ton warhead 50 miles high and hundreds of miles down range to its target.

The charm of this neighborhood on the other side of the Isar comes from its village organisation...the little market square, its little houses, its churches build a really particular whole that seemded to live apart from the big town of Munich

Jugendstil in München : Ainmillerstraße no. 22

The magazine "Jugend" (youth) that will later give its name to a whole artistic current was born in Munich and the town (in particular the old artists' neighborhood Schwabing - if you are interested, some tours are organised) has a lot of "jewels" of this time. The architects Helgib and Haiger had indeed this aim to build a jewel when designing the No 22 of the Ainmillerstraße: this house (1899-1900) corresponds to a jewel stone on a lady dress. Colors, rythms and golden masks recall also some Vienna influences.

There are a lot of churches in Munich. I don't know the name of this one, but the view on this church was marvelous from the Wehrsteg!

This church is situated on the Steinsdorfstrasse right across the Mariannenbrücke.

There is a sort of a project of Munich, the "Lions' Parade" family, which was launched by the Munich Lions' Parade association Leo e.V.and involves exhibiting some 500 replicas of lions. All started with the arrive of a life-size replica of a lion named Richard at the society GEMA in April 2005 and has since been standing guard over the entrance of the authors' society.
Each lion is a unique piece, created individually by various artists as "convivial image carriers for Munich". In 2006, following the Football World Cup, the Munich lions will be auctioned off for charity.
