Shhh ... this is the pub the tourists would love to find, but haven't fully succeeded yet. It is a great place to enjoy the magnificent Augustiner beer (brewed close by) and enjoy hearty food. Prices are far cheaper than at other beer halls. If you're going at the weekend, you might need to reserve. But it's a cracking place.
Favorite Dish: All good. You can get ox meat.
Great beer, friendly locals, cheap and delicious food. This was my favourite beer cellar in Munich. Seemed a little bit touristy at first but there were much more locals than tourists inside. We had planned to stop here for just one beer before going out for a meal but ended up staying most of the evening. Surprisingly for a beer hall, the food was very good value and the beer of course was excellent.
I have visitet many beer hallles and pub, for some reason this I count on of the best. Even if the place is huge and it can be fully growded. It has to do with service, waiters are very helpful, beer and food. But let's not forget the atmospherere, take stairs to up to beer halle, and you face one of the issues German in world famous.
IT's a place for locals and tourist, try to start a conversation with em, it is easy if you start from beer or BMW.
Favorite Dish: This is sposored byt Augustiner so take a one. There are Edelstoff hell, dunkel and weissbeers. My favorites are dark wheat beer so I would recommend to order unfiltered dunket weisbier, if you haven't ever done it, the flavor is extremely large! Hope thay have it.
To be the thing is beer and with beer I take something (in beer halles, places for dinner only are vise versa), here you can select e.g selection of sausages, rumpsteack or breaded pig.
This is a nice atmospheric place to make a stop while you are in the old city of Munich. The prices did not seem too bad, and the service was good. Of course, you will find a lot of beer here in large glasses.
Favorite Dish: I tried the Weisswurst (white sausage) that is a local specialty. It was not expensive at all. This is served boiled and still in the boiling pot. Accompanying the wurst is some mustard. This, some bread, and some beer make a good meal here. Not everyone likes it, but it is something that definitely comes from this region.
Augustiner Brauereigaststätte (Brewhouse)
Here you can find simple but typical Bavarian Kitchen with fair prices and cheap cold beer.....
....it´s more real than Hofbäuhaus.... try it.
Favorite Dish: Bavarian Kitchen, Beer
This is a vert traditional Beer Hall. Full of athmosphere. The Augustiner Beer is excellent. The outside of the building is a very beautiful example of Jugenstil (Art Nouveau).
Favorite Dish: I saw something I liked the look of on the next table. I said “Ich hätte gern das, bitte” and that’s what I got. Don’t know what is was, but it tasted great. It cost about 6 Euro which made it very good value as well.
This is a big beer hall/restaurant, not necessarily a tourist place. It's busy and bustling. On our first visit we ended up sharing a table with a German man (fortunately who spoke English) who helped us with the menu.
Favorite Dish: The Sauerbraten is great! My husband also enjoyed a sausage plate.
The surrounding was excellent, but it was very busy. And it took some time to get any service. Since it is the oldest beer hall in Munich and famous I got over the slow service. But beside that I enjoy the food very much, and the beer. But over all, it some thing you have to do once.
Favorite Dish: The BEER!!! The Goulash soup was great.
Located by the Marienplatz in the pedestrian zone, the Augustiner Bierhalle is a fine place to have a meal and enjoy some delicious beer. Just grab an empty seat at one of the long tables. If you're not sure if it's taken, just ask , "Sitzed hier jemand?"(Zitzed here yeemand?).
Favorite Dish: The food here is good, but for me, the attraction is the beer, which I rank among the finest in the world.
This was the first place I went to for a beer on my visit to Munich. Much smaller then the other but just as popular.
Favorite Dish: I enjoyed a heffe weissen beer and of course a weisswurst with the sweet mustard.
Augustiner Brau Ausschank Great beer, wonderful sausages & mustard, what more can one want?
Very good food, and selfmade beer.
Favorite Dish: The very Munich Menu - Roast Pork and Beef - is a big dish cost only 18.9 Euro per person.
