One of the most appealing restaurant newcomers in Munich occupies the grandiose premises of a 19th-century palace (the Bernheimerpalais am Lenbachplatz).
And YES it was empty at the time I took this picture, the time was around 5pm...LOL
This stylish emporium of food, wine, sensuality, and conviviality evokes hip New York or Los Angeles.
The decorative theme revolves around the Seven Deadly Sins and the bar is the longest in Munich.
Adulterys represented by a provocative large-scale pre-Raphaelite painting behind the bar. The theme within the ultracomfortable drinking lounge is Sloth
Vanitys represented by a catwalk, illuminated by tricolored strobe lights, where you'll promenade, fashion-model style, high above other diners. Even the toilet is accessorized with jailhouse bars and manacles, to represent - cool indeed!!Wrath
Gluttonys difficult to resist in this culinary temple Other 'sins' await your own discovery.
Try some of the food items even if they seem less important than the decor, but are likely to include a 'seven sins' platter that contains foie gras, lobster, carpaccio of beef, and mozzarella tarts or have as I did this time a sushi-plate!
Open: Restaurant daily 6pm-midnight,
Cafe-bistro daily 11am-midnight
Bar daily 11am-1am (till 3am Thurs-Sat).
Reservations recommended for dinner.
Credit Cards: AE, DC, MC, V.
Lenbach Palais: boah - sehr lecker und fein
So exclusive, impossible to find, will have to write down the name of the street sometime. Lit up flooring, white linens, fabulous wines, etc...
The service is out of this world, of course the cost is high - but extremely worth it. Wear nice clothes, uppity up, and bring your manners.
Favorite Dish: Oooh - the Creamy Pasta dish with fresh shaved truffles on top - out of this world!
