Walk through the gate into Sendlinger Str. by claudia1975 Two very nice stores for sporting goods are “Sport Schuster” and “Sport Check” – both located only one minute from Marienplatz. Everyone knows these stores , so just ask. You can get everything there from hiking and climbing gear to skis, snoawbards, clothing, swimming suits, aerobic dresses or golf equipment. However, both stores mainly sell pricy brands and equipment.
- snowboards - skis - fancy sun glasses - swim suits - sportswear - golf equipemnt - climbin ropes - hiking gear - sneakers - inline skates - etc etc etc
Sport Check is usually a bit more expensive than Sport Schuster. Sport Check is a big chain, Schuster is a family run place. Decide by yourself, where to buy .... Sisley is a good shop, not too expensive like most other places in Munchen, also H&M, do not go on the weeken, it's a mad house in every store. I have spent way too much money and learned through the pain of weekend shopping, and in the end, found that staying simple classic in dress was best, Sisley and H&M won't break you, and you will find the clothing (in Sisley) well made, very versitile, and you'll be stylish anywhere you go in and out of Europe....yes, they have shoes too.
Some things I can't find around Houston, I stock up on in Munchen are Ruhbarb jam, Redbush/vanilla tea, Senf mustard, coffee, some meats (I pick up at the airport on the way out) cigarettes (better than american) certain chocolates.
At this time of year? Huh!! The dollar is weak, so think twice about what you really need, want Leave a Comment Theme: Department StoreAddress: Sisley is in MarienplatzDirections: Center of Munchen

You can find a lott of things here, but mostly you'll find food. From exotic fruit to fetacheese, herbs, smoked ham, bread, coockies, fish, ... They also have nice flower stands. Take a wile to walk around here, you can buy or just look for the nice stuff they sell.
As much as you desire. It's a market, so you have cheep stuff but also more expensive. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Viktualien MarktDirections: Nearest U-banh is Marienplatz . When you are in front of the Neues Rathaus go to your right , in the direstion off the Altes Rathaus. When you pass the Altes Rathaus take the first street on your right handside.

shops by d_d Closed to MarienPlatz, there's the main Munich shopping area. There are a lot of shops of almost everything. I was quite astonished in discovering that Munich is really cheap respect to Italy (or better to Commo and Milan): the prices of the same clothes at Benetton (Italian clothes company) are lower of at least 50%! It was a sin to have not enough time to dedicate for shopping! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by IceBear7 The most famous coffee advertisment on German TV - Dallmeyer :-) The real shop in Munich really is beautiful, but you get so much more than just coffee. Chocolates and wine and chesses and tea and all sorts of speciality foods and drinks.
Buy souvenirs for yourself or just enjoy the smells!
more than in the supermarket Leave a Comment Theme: Food and Drink

The Riem Arcaden is an excellent shopping mall at Munich Messestadt, which is the business/exhibition centre district of Munich. By subway train, it takes about 20 minutes to get there from the city centre. There's a huge array of shops, arranged over three floors, and plenty of of places to enjoy a meal, snack, drink or ice cream. There are department stores, a supermarket in the basement and many small shops selling just about everything you could possible need. The mall is bright, cheerful and spotlessly clean and is a good place to spend a few hours if the weather's bad.
Everything from clothes to camera accessories to food. Expensive Theatiner Strasse by Henkster Munich has high price tags, especially in the most elegant shopping streets Maximilianstrasse, Brienner Strasse and Theatinerstrasse, and around the Odeonsplatz area. If you forgot your golden credit card at home, this area is also great for architecture and museums. ;-) More reasonable shops can be found in the pedestrian zone in Kaufinger Strasse, close to Marienplatz and in Sendlinger Strasse, which leads from Marienplatz to Sendlinger Tor. Also Schwabing and Haidhausen offer interesting stores, esp. for books, foods and antiques. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Girls, the best place to find cheap European fashions is at H & M. Slow to come to the United States, you can practially find one on every corner in Europe. Munich is no exception. I think the Marienplatz even has two or three. Anyway, the clothes are cheap and you can impress your friends back home with being ahead of the current style.
Buy whatever you want to. I can almost guarantee you that whatever you find here will eventually show up in the Unites States. You know the bohemian look that was out last summer? I bought some of it six months before it ever hit my home state in Munich.
Almost anything you look at is under $20. Leave a Comment Theme: Women's ClothesDirections: Located in the Marienplatz.

German pewter goblets by Voyageuse30 Many gift shops in Munich (and in Germany as a whole) sell these pewter goblets. I love them and I have a small collection of them. In the photo, the goblet on the left is from Munich; I bought the other one in Bavaria somewhere. Notice the merry group on the goblet on the right drinking (what else?), beer...
They're not terribly expensive, but not cheap either (at least $35 for a small one; larger ones are more expensive) Leave a Comment Theme: Local Craft
