This is a great store. I first ran into this store when I was in Italy and fell in love with its cool style. The clothes are pretty reasonable if you consider the European prices. I think that the quality of the clothing is nice too.
This store is HUGE!! It is probably one of the largest Promods that I have been in all over. It has like 4 floors and everything is pretty much arranged by color group. The top floor has its sale items ( I like this floor best !)
Anyway, its a great store to check out if you want to do a bit of clothes shopping.

Saturday: 10am to 4pm

Several stories, offering everything you could need or want. It is opened from 09h00 - 20h00. The people are very friendly and helpfull. Most sales clerks speak english.
What to buy: I bought a 5 megapixel digital camera for 129 euros. This camera has all the bells and whistles. At home I would pay easily 2-3 times as much.

Probably the most beautiful and famous markets of München. Established in 1807 this is a great market in the city center for fruit, vegetables, flowers, eggs, mikl and other groceries. The old-fashioned word "Viktualien" is just that, groceries. You get little snacks as well as ingredients for a picknick in the English Garden for example.
Around the market there are little statues of famous people from München like the actor Karl Valentin.
On this market you meet locals and visitors alike.

This is a very stylish mall with top-notch stores such as Armani or Zegna (my favourite). I can't afford it, but I can afford to look at it and have a piece of cake in the stylish cafe within the premises of the Hypo-Bank art gallery.
What to buy: expensive designer clothing
What to pay: a hellofalotofmoney

well....I mentioned this already as "on the beaten path" ...but for those who really like his designs...here is where to find his store...just in front of Hotel "Vier Jahreszeiten" ..... well, I don´t know what will happen to the store now since he is not alive anymore, but I heard that the store will probably be closed.
I meanwhile learned that a lot of celebrities bought his design fashion, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, swedish king Carl Gustaf, Las Vegas stars Siegfried & Roy, actor Richard Chamberlain, german showman Thomas Gottschalk or the tenor José Carreras.
What to buy: ties, men clothes....traditional clothes.
What to pay: a lot I guess

Directly right of the old city hall on the Marienplatz is the department store “Ludwick Beck”. Here you can find clothes, especially some more exclusive things like hats, belts, underwear and ballroom dresses. They also have designer brands like Elisabeth Arden, Kokaii, Bernd Berger, Prada etc etc…
However, clothes here (except the basics) are often expensive. But: the store has a extensive collection of classical music CDs and jazz as well as some soul CD. The large CD section is located on the top floor. You will not find mainstream pop or rock, but from Chopin to Beethoven, Bach and modern classic jazz like Keith Jarrett you will find everything.
What to buy: - Clothes in every price range
- Lingery, hats, bags, accesoires
- Classical and jazz CDs !
- Small bistro, coffee, chocolates
What to pay: for a CD between 5 and 15 Euro

Schwabing is a quarter of Munich and many students live here. Rents are expensive and stores often feature exclusive products. You will not find the main stream brands you find in the pedestrian zones. Instead, there are many small stores intermingeled between residential buildings, bistros and cafes. There are stores for designer shoes, hats, designer-furniture, glass-art pieces, paper and pens, wineries, asian stores and antique shops. You can find almost anything, if you are willing to stroll along the streets. Most products will be quite pricy though.
Schwabing can be reahced by food from the Marienplatz in 10-15 minutes by foot. Walk towards the Odeonsplatz and then up the Leopold-road and then turn left into e.g. Gidela-street. Look at www.stadtplan.de for a detailed street map of Schwabing.
What to buy: - Furniture and decoration
- Arts, crafts and antiques
- Individual clothes, shoes, hats and bags
- wine, liquors, speciality foods
- etc. etc. etc
What to pay: above average prices

Sometimes is must be hard to be Chinese, Japanese or from another Asian Nation and always eat the same stuff in Germany. Too much fat, too little spices, no chicken feet, no Asian mushrooms, no tofu ....
The biggest store for REAL Asian food can help you. It is located on the
Rosenheimerstraße
a 5 minute walk from the German Museum.
Be it herbs and vegetables, jiaoze, bouze, curries, spices, soy milk, tofu, coconut milk, soy sauce, Chinese liquor, clams and fish, etc. - you will get it here. They also have a large deep freeze section.
What to buy: I am not Asian so you should now the names. All I can say: it is the only Asian supermaket I have seen in Munich, which really looks like a supermarket in China and all my Asian friends go there to shop.
What to pay: Everything is quite expensive compared to Asia but quite cheap for German standards
