Dated 1470, it's a restored "dance house" originally. Outstanding late Gothic style.

I have just walked into the courtyard and I was impressed by the richly-decorated staircase. The cafè in the courtyard seems a bad idea, both for visitors and for customers, it transforms the fine courtyard into something like a shopping center food court and it's not quiet enough to have a rest from a city tour.

Old and New Town Hall are easily confused, as both look pretty old indeed. The real Old Town Hall is from the 15th century - the famous New Town Hall that towers over the Marienplatz looks like gothic architecture, but was built in the 19th century. It effectively looks much older than it really is.
