    Hofbrauhaus

    Adriana and I

Hofbrauhaus is the place for drinking litres of Hofbrau beer, shouting, singing, dancing, having fun and enjoying Bavarian style.
The old beerhall used to be Hitler's hung out place, but you can still have fun here today. The swastica on the ceiling is covered up with Bavarian flag now.
I had lots of fun here and I still keep singing Anton aus Tirol, just like I was doing for the whole night after leaving Hofbrauhaus.!!!

    the band

The Hofbrauhaus is probably Munich's most famous beerhall, and it is lively! Go there on a Friday or Saturday night, and it is sure to be alive with music and drunks! Although it is mostly tourists, it is still a lot of fun, because there are tourists from all over, so you can meet many different people. The band is also awesome and they keep the place exciting. Every night, my sister and I would try to find somewhere fun to go, and we always ended up at the Hofbrauhaus at one point or another. It was a lot of fun. I would say for everyone to go there at least once, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Good food, good beer, good music, good atmosphere!

Sure your not gonna meet locals but that's the beauty of this place. You're gonna meet tourists from all over the world sharing some of the best things in the world...bier by the litre, schnitzel, wursts, and different languages. When you wanna meet the locals (who are extremely friendly people) hit some of the bier gartens.

Hofbraeuhaus You can drink beer, and you can drink beer, and you can drink beer there. But also you can eat typical munich dishes, which really aren't bad.
A place where the party happens all day long. You meet people from all over the world and can have fun with them. But will they remember next morning? It's very touristic, people from Munich itself don't go there any more.

    Probst!

The Hofbrauhaus is the best place to sing and get drunk with the locals. It is a nice place to go and have some weissbier. This was also the old hangout of Hitler and his party. In fact, Schwastikkas that use to be on the ceiling were painted over to make a pattern of the Bavarian flag, but if you look you can see the symmetrical pattern. A flash of history for us all. I've never had so much fun around polka music.

    Hofbruhaus

Munich is the beer capital of the world. It`s most popular attraction is the Hofbräuhaus, an enormous beer hall. It has existed since 1644.
Note: Like in all restaurants and pubs tables labeled with 'Stammtisch' are reserved for regulars.

Paolo, Wolfie and Hanna..drinking another beer..!

The Hofbräuhaus is a central beer hall in Munich. This is the most touristy of the beer halls .
The upstairs Festsaal in the Hofbräuhaus is notorious for being the site of one of the first large meetings of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (the Nazi Party) in 1920, at which Hitler presented his 25 point plan, which was to become the basis for the party.

This world famous resturant lives up to its billing: beer, tourists, beer, omp-ah band, beer, common tables, beer, drunken revelry, followed by a healthy helping of beer. This was my last major meal before getting sick, and I enjoyed it. One note of caution for those who don't speak much German, I firmly believe the our waiter here tried to rip us off. So be careful and check your bill, even in your given state. Food wasn't bad, but you come here for the atmosphere, friendships, beer, and as a tourist it is a law you have to.

This well known beerhall was founded in 1589, but is really frequented by tourists and not locals who tend to go elsewhere. Still you get a good feeling for a beerhall here and their food is good.

    A must while in Munich

by enjoytravelling Written May 25, 2008

The paradise of bier-lovers. Waiters are dressed in Bavarian typical dresses and there are normally Bavarian musicians playing live.
It is said to be a must where you are in Munich, so don't miss it!

As they say, "in the Hofbrauhaus it's Oktoberfest year-round." The saying is true. It's very lively and a great place to hang out with a good beer.

Within walking distance from the Marienplatz metro station, this is probably Munich's most popular (and very touristy) beer hall.
