FROM Neubeuern, we followed a marked scenic drive on our map, and headed to Schliersee and then Tegernsee. Lake Schliersee, is only a half hour drive from Neubeuern. Both of these lakes were nice, and it was quite busy with traffic. I can see this would be a popular area for summer holidays. Once again, there were more houses and building's with frescoes, and great scenery. It was worth the drive!
After a lovely time in Neubeuern, we departed and headed along the valley floor, admiring the Mountains and scenery as we went. This is Cow country, and what did I see, but a Barn with some beaut murals of Cow's.
I just had to stop and take that photo!
Altenbeuern was first mentioned in 788 as Ad Burones and is located at the old Roman road.
From afar you can see the church of the holy trinity which was built in 1494. The church was changed to baroque style in 1650-55. If the church is open you may see a late Gothic carving of the holy trinity which shows three kings sitting next to each other.
