On our sightseeing day around the Samerberg and the Inn valley we decided to have lunch in Neubeuern.
The restaurant is actually very old and traditional but changed hands only recently. Please have a look at the facade of the building as there is a scenes of the Inn shipping which shows the profession of the Stangenreiter. Those riders had long poles which they poked into the river to find the right route for the ships to take so that they don’t get stuck.
The Stangenreiter is right at the market square. The restaurant is popular with locals and visitors alike. The interior is rather plain but comfortable and the atmosphere is good and the service was friendly and attentive.
Favorite Dish: I ordered a Cordon Bleu which came with French Fries (Euro 7.90). Since I was cold I wanted a hot tea. These only come in the fancy version at Euro 3.20. I opted for the “Suesse Versuchung” which tasted lovely.
