Nuremberg Airport is the international airport of the Franconian metropolitan area of Nuremberg and the second-busiest airport in Bavaria. The airport is ranked 10th among German airports and 67th in Europe. It surprised me on how many corners of the Airport smoking is still welcomed. The other time when I made it out of Nuremberg, snow on Easter turned the intire Airport into some heavy white. It was my first time to see how it looks like when the plane one is already sitting in, get some hot, real hot, shower. These folks on the ground do an amazing job.

I took Air Berlin for the first time and was impressed at how easy they make air travel. They were celebrating their 30th Anniversary and desrve commendation for delivering an excellent service.
Easiest way to travel from Hamburg to Nuremberg (otherwise it would be a very long-winded train trip).
I purchased my tickets on-line months inadvance. Being flexible on departure times and travel dates may save you money. My friend and I paid 70 Euros each (which included all taxes,fees,etc.).
The Nuremberg Airport is very compact and the U Bahn subway station is just outside the arrivals area.

Nuernberg is well connected with many european cities. It is a hub for Germany’s second largest airline, Air Berlin, which always has some good fares for german domestic flights as well as european ones. A return ticket is already available from 58,00 EUR (including all taxes, fees and nasty charges). But of course, also a couple of other airlines fly to Nuernberg too. The airport is rather small compared to the traffic it faces. That means, that long queues at the security control area may appear, but also that your distance to the gate is really short.
If you are arriving at NUE airport, take the U2 metro line which has a station just in front of the airport. This metro line take you to Nuernberg city center. For further information about how to use the public transport system in Nuernberg, have a look at my trip “Metro”.

The Nuernberg Airport is very tiny, but exactly this is the reason why I like it so much. From my house it is just like 20 minutes to get there by U-Bahn. You can get there anything you want, even a little bit of 'international' feeling.

Nuremberg has its own airport, but it is mostly for regional flights, budget airlines and charter holidays. Lufthansa is based there, but if you want to fly in from any major airport outside of Germany, then you'll probably have to fly in via Frankfurt. The principle budget airline serving Nuremberg is Air Berlin, and they do good value flights to all over Germany, Europe, as well as further afield to countries like Turkey and Egypt. Condor, Lufthansa's budget wing, also has a lot of charter-flight destinations. Apart from Lufthansa a small number of major national airlines fly to the city, including KLM, Air France and Turkish Airlines.
Transport to the airport is excellent, and you can get to and from the city on the U2 underground line. This takes just 12 minutes to get to the city center, and costs just €1.60.

Air Berlin fly to Nuremberg directly from London Stansted airport in around 90 minutes. Prices are reasonable if you book early.
Transport from the airport by the U-Bahn takes around 15 mins.

I get the with the 'Schönes Wochenend Ticket' from the Deutsche Bundesbahn. It's a weekendticket for 40 DM and 5 people can use it. But you can only take Regional trains like S-Bahn, RE = Regional Expres, RB = Regional Bahn.
When you come from outside Germany take the plane and then maybe the train.
by foot.

If you're in Germany the best way to get to Nuremberg is by car or by train. Nuremberg is perfect connected to both the railway system and the system of German motorways.
Another posibility is to arrive in Nuremberg by plane.
There are flights to all major cities in Germany.
And as Eurowings emerged of the former 'Nuremberg Flight Service' on many routes you have the posibility to choose between Lufthansa ans Eurowings.
Additionally there are flights to many cities over Europe.
Airlines like KLM, Air France, Swissair, Alitalia and Lufthansa (as a member of Staralliance) offer connection flights to their hubs in Amsterdam, Paris, Zürich, Milan, Frankfurt or Munich.
In Nuremberg there are 2 subway lines. One newly connects the airport with the city.
Additionaly there are lots tramways and bus lines which run frequently.
Taxis in Germany are quite expensive.
