This restaurant is part of a group of 4 restaurants belonging to the same owner. Bratwursthäusle, Bratwurstglöcklein, and Goldenes Posthorn, are all in Nürnberg, Germany. Bratwurstherzl is in Munich close to Victualiensmarkt. As the names imply, bratwurst is the specialty, and Nürnberger bratwurst is the specialty of the group. These finger-sized sausages are cooked over a wood fire and served with sauerkraut or potato salad. The food is excellent, the prices are very reasonable, and the ambiance is rustic, just what it should be. Bratwurst and beer were made for each other. What could be better? "Prosit!!! and Guten Appetite"
Favorite Dish: Nürnberger bratwurst is the specialty of this restaurant. Served with a side dish of sauerkraut or potato salad, one orders 6, 8, 10, or 12 (or more in my case). This finger-sized pork sausage with a unique blend of spices is one of the main dishes in Nürnberg cuisine. One of the spices is marjoram which adds a unique flavor. Of all the different kinds of wurst, Nürnberg is my favorite. Wurst, in Germany, is covered by purity laws (as is beer), and no sausage containing any fillers can be called "Wurst." Enjoy Nürnberg bratwurst, the best bratwurst in the world, and nobody makes bratwurst better than a Nürnberger!!! The best news is that I will be there again in April, 2007!
Note: Some have written that this restaurant is "touristy." My response is that this restaurant has been a staple in Nürnberg since before there were many tourists. It is still the favorite of many locals. I have been here many, many times and it has never disappointed.
UPDATE - MAY 2007: Herr Berringer has added a fourth restaurant in the altstadt also named Bratwurst Herzl. It is on one of the main shopping streets and is patterned after his other restaurants.

OK, again you cannot find REAL Mexican food at this trendy place named after a very famous Latin American tortilla dish, but it is the most authentic you can find in the city, and WAY better than Sausolitos - I MEAN it!!!
The best time to visit in a peaceful atmosphere is around lunch time; if you want to go there for dinner, be sure to make a reservation quite a few days ahead, as otherwise it will be very difficult to find a table.
Favorite Dish: Plato Mexicano is a great tip to have the famous 'little bit of everything'.
A good tip is to be here during the Happy Hour as coctails then are half-price ... and they are soooooo delicious!!! Even better: if you don't want drink alcohol, there is a quite huge menu for non-alcoholic coctails as well, and I really love them these days.

well, its not really a restaurant but u should try the "original nurnberger" those are really good, u get 2 wieners in a bun (by the way they have some great bread over there - yummm)
the price is cheap since its right there on the street and there are tons of vendors trying to sell the same thing.
Favorite Dish: not alot to chose from so ill have to say the "original nurnberger"

Just came back from a magnificent evening at the Vivere. We had a menu of 5 dishes, which were chosen absolutely excellent. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere in the former EssenWein simply marvelous.
Favorite Dish: We had a 5-dish-menu of some fish, very little meat, a chocolate ravioli, sour-cream-sorbet and orange creations.

It is a very family friendly place with a great owner Pawar Singh. He comes from North India and his speciality are Currys. He likes it indian hot, and designed an inventive scheme to describe the degree of hotness.
5 levels are available: 0 - baby food; 1 - Germanic; 2 - Indogermanic; 3 - Indian; - 4 - Super Indian
This place does not make you feel like you entered the Taj Mahal, it is rather simple in its ambiente. But you go to this place for the food anyway!
Favorite Dish: I had almost every item on the menu in the 10 years i frequented this place, but the clear favourite is #54 Murg Tikka Masala. It is the most intense taste explosion I ever encountered!
Other good meals are #32 (spinach with indian cheese), #58 (lamb with fruits and almonds), #62 (red curry with chicken), #64 (spinach with lamb), #65 (lamb with yoghurt-saffron sauce) and #79 (tikka plate with chicken and lamb pieces).
A real famous dish is #59 Murg Nirvana. It is hot, as you might guess from the name :)

Nürnberg is famous for sausages, traditionally sold in 3's. This is a must for me - a sausage restaurant and not disappointed. Very tasty 9 sausages with sauerkraut and a couple of decent beers too. Vegetarian Mrs Bonio well catered for, not just sausages on offer.

The Krakauer Haus is another very nice restaurant in Nürnberg, just up on the city walls in the Eastern part of the city, beside the river Pegnitz, on the Insel Schütt.
As you can understand by its name, it's supposed to be a Polish place, and in fact it's the house of the Polish Kulturzentrum, and inside it there is the "Restaurant Kopernikus", where most of the food is typically Franconian, as well as the beers (but you can have Polish as well).
It's really a nice place, you can sit in the biergarten, or along the city-walls, which is better when it rains, like last time I was there!
Favorite Dish: Schweinebraten is really good! :)

Every time I go to Nürnberg I have to spend a night at the Barfüßer! It's really a fantastic place, a bit like the HB for München, but with much less tourists and lots of local people. They brew their homemade beer, which is really good and then you can eat the classic Bavarian food, which is really great!
Of course, since you are in Nürnberg, the rostbratwurst are a MUST also here!
It's really big, very hot inside, and so it's not so difficult to find a free table expecially in Summer.
If you want to have a happy Franconian night, with litres of beer and good food, THIS is the place where to go!
Favorite Dish: Rostbratwurst of course, 12 stück! :)
And the great Apfelstrüdel for desser!

My friend Joey surprised me with a call on my mobile to tell me he was in town with his girlfriend. I met them at the Eiscafe Pinguin, which turned out to be a good choice as it was both good and right next to my hotel. Located in the crowded shopping square of Lugwigsplatz, crammed in amongst Nuremberg's other obsession: Coffee Bars, the cafe was busy and bustling with people. The coffee was really good, and the tomato and mozarella salad was excellent and fresh. I felt seriously charged up for an afternoon of activities after eating there.
