Barfüßer is a brewery and a restaurant located in a historic building from the 15th century. In the middle of the restaurant they have huge brewing equipment.
Opening hours are daily from 11 to 1. In summertimes it's a great oportunity to sit outside and enjoy the warm weather. It's ideal for groups.
Favorite Dish: The food they sell is typical franconian, like Nürnberger Rostbratwürste ... you just have to taste these little sausages! and ... Sauerkraut.

This restaurant is most famous for it's pizzas: big as a wheel with thin dough and an unforgetable flavour! The restaurant itself is little and noisy, but that's part of the flair. Prices are ok for what you get.
Favorite Dish: If you go there, please try pizza with mozzarella, garlic and basil, it's called Pizza Cagnona, I think.

Nassauer Keller is a 'must' if you're in Nurnberg. From the outside it doesn't really look like a restaurant. After walking through the doors, you walk down a long, narrow, medieval stairway. It ranges in price from very affordable to outrageously expensive. I'd recommend dressing nicely, even though I don't think there's a dress code.
Favorite Dish: The filet-mignon is absolutely delicious and I'd have to say it was the best I've ever had! It's pretty pricy though (much more than it would be in the U.S.) but I'm not sure exactly how much. Be advised that they cook it medium-rare unless you specify otherwise. If you're on a tighter budget you can get a nice bratwurst meal for under 10 euros (i think).

Great, typical German restaurant to try the local specialities.
Favorite Dish: Try Nürnberger sausages, pretzels, potato salad and whatever else you have room for. And have some good German beer, too. But of course that I probably didn't even need to mention :)

A great ambience - perfect to try out some German dishes. This restaurant is the oldest Bratwurst kitchen in the world, or so they claim. If it is true that they are from 1419, then the fact itself is worth a visit to the restaurant!
Favorite Dish: Try the Nuernberger roasted sausages - on the side try some cabbage or potatoe salad. Very, very good if you like this kind of a food!

This restaurant doesn't offer you only great food, but also a fun night of entertainment! All the food is prepared in front of you in a big heated oven and the skills of the cooks are remarkable, so your eyes are glued to his every movement. The only downfall is the price, but where do you get great and cheap Japanese food anyway? If you love Japanese and are tired of all the German dishes, go for it!!
Favorite Dish: I love their sushi and then mixed fish for the main dish. And the BEST is the dessert -- ice cream with hot berries and fruit. Yummy!!

Modern ambience, lively, meeting place for locals. In case the weather is fine (hahaha!) enjoy the breakfast or whatever on the terrace right above the river.
Favorite Dish: Breakfast. Croissants, ham and eggs, tea (or coffee)

No need to worry about where to eat in Nuremberg. We never had any bad food there, either eating in a good restaurant like Nassauer Haus, or a neighborhood restaurant owned by local families since 1746.

countryside athmosphere is important! Don't eat in Nuremberg itself, drive 20 km in the country, and search a restaurant in which you can get a 'Wienerschnitzel' for DM 10.-! Thats a fair price!
Favorite Dish: Schäuferle mit Klos und Salat
