Nurnburg has an overwhelmingly large metro setup for it's size, in my opinion. There are tons of stops and the underground station at the HBF is under some heavy construction, so be careful, lots is going on.

If you're in Germany the best way to get to Nuremberg is by car or by train. Nuremberg is perfect connected to both the railway system and the system of German motorways.
Another posibility is to arrive in Nuremberg by plane.
There are flights to all major cities in Germany.
And as Eurowings emerged of the former 'Nuremberg Flight Service' on many routes you have the posibility to choose between Lufthansa ans Eurowings.
Additionally there are flights to many cities over Europe.
Airlines like KLM, Air France, Swissair, Alitalia and Lufthansa (as a member of Staralliance) offer connection flights to their hubs in Amsterdam, Paris, Zürich, Milan, Frankfurt or Munich.
In Nuremberg there are 2 subway lines. One newly connects the airport with the city.
Additionaly there are lots tramways and bus lines which run frequently.
Taxis in Germany are quite expensive.

I get the with the 'Schönes Wochenend Ticket' from the Deutsche Bundesbahn. It's a weekendticket for 40 DM and 5 people can use it. But you can only take Regional trains like S-Bahn, RE = Regional Expres, RB = Regional Bahn.
When you come from outside Germany take the plane and then maybe the train.
by foot.

Like many other German cities, Nürnberg has a lot of bike tracks and many people ride a bicycle, as you can see from these photos. There are even parking places for bikes!

Nürnberg has a network of six tram lines, but you don't really need to take a tram to visit the city centre. Here are some of the trams you'll see.
