When strolling around Oberstdorf we came across this ‘cheese shop’. Our goal wasn’t buying cheese, but drinking a cup of coffee. Or better a cappuccino and it turned out they do serve by far the best cappuccino in Oberstdorf and surroundings. They are also famous for their homemade pies: very recommended !!
Besides the ‘Käsladen’ turned out to be a very quaint, cozy and un-German café. It is quite small and has a remarkable interior with just a couple of tables and simple basic wooden chairs; the sidewalk cafe offers some extra seats.
Of course you can buy local cheese, but also honey, several kinds of jam and marmalade and drinks and brandies. Looking for an original gift: look around and you will find something.
Favorite Dish: Cappuccino and Apfelstrudel (apple pie).

We came across this mountain inn after we had left the Breitach gorge. They have appartments & rooms and a restaurant with a large terrace which offers great views on the meadows and mountains. You get local food there and you’ve plenty of choice. I had a “Schweizer Fleischsalat” (salad of strips of sausage, gherkin and cheese) which was good and very suitable for the warm weather!

Pub brewing it's own steam beers in a great position just outside the station. An ideal place for us to eat (and drink) before the skijumping. Food and beers very tasty in comfortable friendly surroundings - excellent.
