Public Press Maps are ideal for sightseeing
Apart from the obvious (sunscreen, walking gear, rain protection, layers for all temperatures etc) I can only highly recommend to purchase a map from publisher Publicpress. I recently found these in my local bookstore and since then I never leave home without them. They are available for almost all parts of Germany and with 2,95 Euro they are ridiculously reasonable in price. The scale is approx. 1:150.000 (some have 1:140.000, some 1:155.000, etc) and they have little flags at all the points of interest and markers for other sights to see. Very useful and very much reliable. The only “downside” is that they are available in German only. But then, map is map and German names help to identify the road signs and other places.I had No 43, Oberbayern with me.
