A scheduled boat service run by Chiemsee Schiffahrt KG allows you to get to Fraueninsel and to Herreninsel from Prien.
Boats depart every day of the year and take 15 minutes from Prien to Herreninsel and 10 more minutes from Herreninsel to Fraueninsel. Then they sail to the town of Gstadt and come back.

From Munich just get your ticket to Prien - Stock and sit back and relax. You will have no parking problems and see some of the lovley country side between Munich and Prien.

In Prien you'll find still in use an old steam tram like those that were used around the ent of the XIX century.
It connects Prien Railway Station with the harbour from where the ships depart to cruise the lake.
Works during weekends and holidays in spring summer. The whole trip takes around 15 minutes (one way) and there are 10 shuttles per day.
In Prien you can take a 19th century steam-train for a 2 km-ride from the station to the pier for boats to the islands.
