The "Altdeutsche Bier und Weinstube" is a great place, where you may taste the local wine and look around for the cosy atmosphere with all of the walls covered by precious wood, this Weinstube really looks like in the good old times. When you click on my picture, you may see the library in the back, that is used as the house-bar and in front the restaurant in the entrance-hall of the hotel.
In the cellar they have a great medieval vault transfered into a cosy wine-bar.
I had "Schweizer Leckerli" (Swiss delights) - medaillions of pork with a Gorgonzola-sauce, mushrooms and "Spaetzle", gratinated with cheese.
Spaetzle are some kind of rather soft noodles, a speciality in that area !!
I payed 16,80 Euros for it togeather with 2 glasses of grape-juice. In general you may find 2 different kinds of dumplings that are served with meat :
Kartoffelknödel - made of potatoes
Semmelknödel - made of rolls and white bread (my favorites!!) So this is the Schneeballen / snowball, and when you click on my picture, you may see the principal of it.
Make sure your teeth are in good order...
...or be prepared to wave good-bye to them, when eating Schneeballen !!
Once in a lifetime is enough, BUT I may imagine that this desert gets better, when stored a long time, maybe in a tin-box, like in the old times, like cookies at Christmas-time.

Try to eat the homade noodles ( Spätzle)
wow!!
They also have a delicious Kraut!
Also you have to see the toilets they got a wonderfil view.
They also got them in their Hotel.

It yet takes pretty much of time until order and food are done. That's quite often with German restaurants serving great & traditional meals, but take like forever until finally order is given and even longer until that great meal is served. The big, big plus at Reichs-Kuechenmeister Flair Hotel (and restaurant) they provid extra space for non smoker!!
Zander fish, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut with a white wine sauce, and had some hot tasty tea to drink along the meal. We ate at Bürgerkeller, just off the Marktplatz, for lunch on a freezing December day. The cellar was warm and inviting - and quite charming - as was the proprietor, who graciously allowed me to practice my German with him. The food was some of the best we had on our trip. We enjoyed traditional German specialties at Bürgerkeller, including sauerbraten mit kartoffelknödel (roast beef with potato dumplings) and bratwurst mit spätzel und linsengemüse (bratwurst with egg noodle dumplings and lentils). The latter is a house specialty - and for good reason! I highly recommend this restaurant for its cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and delicious German food. The owner's a former chef, so he is very carefull with the ingredients and the taste.
