Saulgrub is within an hours drive from 3 of Mad King Ludwig´s 4 castles...Hohenschwangau, Neuschwanstein, and Linderhof with the Wies church in-between. After a day of castles and churches, you´ll have your fill of baroque architecture for a while!
*ALSO* while waiting for the carriage ride to Neuschwanstein, have a look around in the Japanese tourist department store...1-stop shopping for all your souveniers..at astronomical prices..but the signs are all in Japanese! WE all felt just a little out of place..not only because we were laughing our collective asses off!!!
