    Munich Sports & Outdoors

A big day out. At the Allianz Arena for FC Bayern v Freiburg. 1st against 5th, but Bayern had clinched the league title the week before. They’d also put Barcelona to the sword during the week in Champions League action. It was a real experience, only slightly spoiled by the football. Real end of season stuff. Bayern won 1-0 through a cross from...

Lake Starnberg is often called “Munich’s bath tub” because many Munich locals flock here on the weekends and holidays for any kind of water sport and for see-and-be-seen on the seaside, especially in Starnberg. With a circumference of approx. 50 km, the lake is ideal to cycle around. Experienced cyclists can do it on one day, however without...

Bavaria offers lots of great hiking opportunities from the Alps in the south to the Rhon and Frankische Schweiz in the north. Besides good walking shoes and rain proof gear, it's always good to pack some food in case you find a nice place like these ruins for a picnic.
