When you get to the top, you will be quite surprised to see the little chapel sitting there in the middle of nowhere. We went up to see it, and it was worth the trek thru the snow and getting our feet slightly wet.

Going up the Zugspitze and looking out , seeing all this snow, really creates a white, romantic scenery. Then the wind comes up and brings you back to reality very quickly, but this does not mean that you cannot enjoy the landscape and beautifull view from the top.

When here you must go to the Zugspitz and take a look around. The view of the alps from here is awesome. There are also some nice "easy" walks here, where you can really enjoy nature and see the lovely mountain flowers.
We had lunch up on the mountain and it was really nice sitting there, looking into the distance and just daydream.

There is much to discover on a stroll through the old town of Weilheim. It is nice to look at all the Bavarian detailing like the carved doors, shutters, and fences and esp. the traditional wall paintings called luftlmalerei. There are not many homes here that is painted, but the one's that are, is like a little jewel. I also loved the well-kept window boxes bursting with geraniums.

On a Saturday they have a market in this part of town selling various local crafts. It is rather well attended and the stuff on sale are really great.

Weilheim is another paradise for a hiker. Like so many other Germany town's it has awesome, well-marked trails. Buy yourself a hiking stick if you have any walking problems, they are a great asset.

If it was not for my friend, we would never have found this place. Not sure if it is still there, but this chinese restaurant below street level served a mean dinner
