Always explore the area around the tourist site. It is usually equally interesting. Around Wieskirche are meadows and walking paths. As you look up, the Alps are in the background. It is truly spectacular. The meadows were full of wildflowers and the trees were in bloom in May.
This is such a beautiful area. Don't miss the castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau and the villages of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald and in Austria Seefeld and Innsbruck . . . all an easy drive. Leave a Comment
Address: BavariaDirections: Take 17 north from Fussen. At Steingaden turn right (east) and you will soon see signs to Wies. As you drive up the road, follow the tour buses. It is well signposted. There is parking and you will pay the kindly gentleman across the road.
