Every year from July till August the Luisenburg festival season takes place. It provides you a wide span of interesting performances from classics, folk plays and fairy tales for childrens as well as adults.

The Luisenburg is the oldest open air theater stage in Germany in front of the greatest rock labyrinth of Europe.

The stage is located close to the town of Wunsiedel.

We booked this time the morning performance of the Blues Brother Story , it started on 10:30 and ended at 13:00 without pause.

It was a fantastic performance with very professional musicians and principal performers. When the song 'Every body needs somebody ...' was played I noticed little tears in my eyes - so touching!

Also we had tickets for the evening performance of the 'Ritter Kamenbert or in english Knight Camembert'.

It was a wonderful children story about a joung knight who had to solve several tests on his own way to be at the end accepted by this king father and by the way, on his trail he found his love - a happy end !

As I said, it is actually a children story, but almost 90% of the audience where adjults and not less 60 plus !

The Luisenburg Festival is absolutely an alternative to the worldwide known 'Wagner Festspiele' in Bayreuth.

A felicitous day ended later with a well cooled bottle of wine of our own wine yard - a Riesling 2011. We enjoyed once more the convenience of our motorhome and had a lot to lough about the Ritter Kamenbert

The skiing slopes are not really a challange for good skiers. But it is fun and snowboarders have perfect conditions. Wide, flat slopes...

No matter which of the summits you reach! There must always be some time for a Schnaps! Not exactly a "must see activity", but a very good "gotta do activity"!

Wandering from the Fichtelsee to the Schneeberg you pass by the Seehaus which is a very nice hut on the mountain.

In winter it is a favorite spot for locals, who take a bobslide with them and coast down to the parking lot after a couple of drinks.
