Fondest memory: The best thing about Hamburg? How about when you go to stay with your old college teammates in Hamburg they have also called up the guys playing American football in Braunschweig as well.
Two nights of good partying and catching up with people. By the way, catch a Hamburg Blue Devils game while your in Hamburg.

Fondest memory: The Titanic exhibition which was in Hamburg back in 1998. They showed a lot of things they found near the wreck. It was really exciting, thrilling, sad and interesting - I went there three times!!!
(I made the graphic with pictures from the brochure because you were not allowed to take pictures inside the exhibition unfortunately)

Fondest memory: Talking to Evan Dando, singer of the Lemonheads, before their concert in Hamburg's Markthalle in 1993!!! He started talking to me and at first I didn't even realize it was him (he had cut his hair). All the teenagers around hated me ... hahah What a day! How lucky I was!!! The concert was brilliant as well!!

Favorite thing: I loved to walk around the city and observe all the local people. It was amazing how much German I learned from just listening and how much culture I saw all around me. I loved being apart of the country and seeing its people in their real lives and day to day jobs.

Favorite thing: See the port and spend a dime
make a boat trip in day time.
Afterwards at later night
see St. Pauli, have a red light district sight.

Favorite thing: Too many to choose one really. So a brief list instead:
The Alster lakes, Rathaus (town Hall), Hafen (The Port), Fleete (Waterways), many of the churches, Planten und Blomen Park, Speicherstadt (Warehouse district) - this is amazing and the list goes on and on. I have spent 6 Days on my first visit and 5 days on my second visit and still there's lots I haven't seen. Oh and I'm making my 3rd visit on 10 Aug 2002 for 4 nights.
Fondest memory: Best memory My 1st visit - everything about it was perfect - I was mid twenties , went with a friend of simialr age, the weather was fantastic, the hotel very nice 1st visit and we were amazed. The public transport is fantastic.

Favorite thing: Hamburg is called 'the gateway to the world' and that is what it is:
it is the second biggest town in Germany, very cosmopolitan, but yet it can be quite homely, if you leave the city center!
Fondest memory: I lived here for 18 years, spent my college years here, made friends and I always enjoy returning 'home'!!

Favorite thing: Hamburg's 5 Hauptkirchen (main churches) were built between the late Middle Ages and the Baroque period. Each one offers unique features and is worth visiting as they represent a part of Hamburg's long history.
Fondest memory: Since I lived with a host family and visited a local school, my best memories are of the people I met there. When I think about Hamburg, the first things I think of are my host family's house (they were co-owners of a duplex), the local school and the parties and discos I went to with my host sister and her friends.

Favorite thing: I do not like some one to tell me where to go - 'must' is not the word for me...
Therefore ý would not dare to suggest anything to a free traveller. Listen to your hearth, and find your own way. Me ?... I personnally prefer to follow the footprints of ordinary people; old sailors, retired prostitutes, the jobless, part time workers, hopeless lovers, people without a goal to reach in life, thats my tribe... Cheers... (photo- Luis Marden/ career collage)
Fondest memory: Hamburg was beautiful with 'Peggy Lee' and her 'fever'... We lost her a few days ago unfortunately. I raise my glass to her beloved memory, god bless her soul... I threw her 'fever' from the music-box to the air in Hamburg bars. The music struck strangers like a slap in the face. Then, 'Pink Floyd (money), Jimi Hendrix (Hey Joe), Rolling Stones (Paint it Black)' followed; melted all strangers in a common pot...
Thank you Peggy Lee...for your 'fever'.
