Gay Nightlife, Hamburg
To see and to be seen - there is hardly any other gay place in Hamburg for which this is more true than for the Café Gnosa. Located just right in the heart of gay Hamburg (Lange Reihe, St.Georg), it is a place for everybody to come to - students, businessmen, shirt- or leather-guys all like to meet friends or to read the newspaper while drinking a cup of coffee here (and it is one of the few real cafés in HH!). There are not so many lesbian guests here though. The place is always crowded, especially on Saturdays when you can only get a free seat by chance.
Dress Code: casual
Weekdays it is a cosy and fancy bar, weekends Dance Club with music of the 70s, 80s and Charts. A must! And in the middle of St.Pauli - another gay centre - just a few steps away from the 'Reeperbahn', Hamburg's infamous red light district.
Dress Code: casual party crowd, every look is allowed!!!
'Gay-Kantine' in the 'Kantine' (=restaurant)of Deutsches Schauspielhaus
Hamburg's latest and rather popular Gay-Party presented by the party-addicted St. Georg Tartlets, which have organized many events over the (like Sweet Sundays, Paola Club, E-Lounge).
And they succeed: Already at the beginning at 11 p.m. people are queuing and the party carries on until early morning. The 'Gay-Kantine'is taking place once a month, every second Saturday of the month.
Dress Code: what you want
Dress Code: Fashionably casual, as one would dress in any upscale, urban bar in L.A., New York, London or Paris. Jeans are perfectly acceptable, though the the shoes, whether sneakers or sandals, dressy, tend to be of the trendier varieties that are considered "hot" and "of the moment".
