Weihnachtsmärkte/ Christmasmarkets

by elbe

If you visit Germany at the end of November to December 24th you should visit a Christmas market. But not every Weihnachtsmarkt is a good one. There are some where just commercial stuff is sold for a lot of money and where is no Christmas atmosphere. So try to ask German people which one they like before you drive a long way for nothing.I especially like the Christmas markets in Kempen at the Niederrhein, the art and artisan market at Schloss Rheydt on the first weekend of December and the smaller markets of social institions like markets of the churchs or quarter on the weekends. You find lists and critics of German Weihnachtsmärkte athttp://www.deutscher-weihnachtszauber.com/weihnachtsmaerkte.htmhttp://www.weihnachtsmarkt.weihnachten-info.de/http://www.weihnachtsmarkt.de/links/Orte/

The Romantic Road

by davequ

I would make sure to rent a car and drive the Romantische Strasse from Frankfurt all the way down to Munich/Fussen. Spend the night in Rothenburg. Check out my Rothenburg page as this is where I spent most of my "city time." This has only whetted my appetite for Germany. I wish I had spent more time there, and if I am lucky and can go there in the future I will spend much more time in Deutschland. Germany is romantic historic Europe at its beautiful best. Walking the Rothenburg castle grounds and gardens by day, and walking the medieval cities at night. I miss the history, & as strange as it may sound, the "German-ness" of Germany. This is a picture of the Tauber valley along Romantische Strasse from Rothenburg castle garden. Enjoy Deutschland! & please feel free to look at my Rothenburg page for lots more info sharing and pictures.

After 1 week staying with my son (i was allowed to sleep in the same room) we went home and our doctor took care for him for the rest of his sickness. Moselwine is fine

by moselhotel-post.de

The white Mosel wine-growing on sleepslopes are with a light seasoning smell. Especially the Riesling wine is famous for his taste. The wine-grower on the Mosel doesn't give anything to the wine. The quality is very important. One of the many wine-growers is always the right for you. Dont't taste it in the supermarket! A glass of wine in the evening is good for your health. That also knew the old Romans. Neumagen-Dhron is the oldest town with vine in Germany. Once it was the summer residence of the roman emperor Constantin and it's known as the "Rheinisches Pergamon". There are a lot of wine-growners in Neumagen-Dhron.Celebrations and events:Vine bloom celebration on the third weekend in June; Wine street celebration "Metschert" at the end of August/at the beginning of Septmeber.Sport facilities:tennis, fishing, riding, covered waggon tours, camping. There are 21 different walking ways...

Munich

by herzog63

I had a great time in Munich. I enjoyed walking around the streets and taking in the sites. I went to 2 different Museums that had great displays. I met a group of students from Minnesota and ended up hanging around with them. We spent New Years Eve at the Hofbrauhaus. That was a pretty cool experience. We were staying in a youth hostel that I think locked it's doors at 1 AM on New Years Eve so shortly after midnight we made a run for the subway and made it back just in time!

Fussen

by herzog63

Fussen is a Great small town that is the place that the Beautiful Neuschwanstein Castle can be found!! I had a great time here and did a Great hike into the mountains on a snowy day. There was also another castle in Fussen that I can't remember the name of but it was also very beautiful!! It was yellow!! I looked kind of bright for a castle!! I loved the way the churches were painted on the fronts like the one in the picture.
