The Kurhaus is one of the town's most beautiful buildings. It was originally a 'Promenade House', a place where the cultured and elegant came to see and be seen. Between 1821-24, Baden's director of civic construction, Friedrich Weinbrenner, turned it into a 'Conversation House', a place for more formal gatherings and events. The right wing of the Kurhaus contains the Baden-Baden Casino.

Belle Epoch delight
The Baden-Baden Theatre – a fascinating building from all angles. From the outside, it has a Belle Epoch look about it which reminded me of the Paris Opera.

Drive to the Black Forest
After some time in Baden-Baden you'll want to take a drive through the Black Forest. You can see it in the background of the photo.
This alley leads through the Kurpark, to Gönneranlage and to Klosterwiese. It is very relaxing taking a walk or taking a footbath, espescially in summer.
There you can drink a glass of the famous and extremely healthy water. But even it is good for your health in my opinion it does not taste very good.
