Friedrichstrasse is the main city street.
Walk along the city main street, visit Market Square and Ullrich Fountain, other numerous cites of the city.
Take a ride outside of the city and climb one of its surrounding mountains by a special hiking route.
You can see a Cross of Peace at its top.

We arrived to Balingen by bus each time we went there.
During our last stay there we left it by train.
A train trip was very special since the train to Stuttgart tilted at one of the turnings.
Our local friends drew our atention to that fact when they saw us off at the railway station.
Here are maps of the area for you to make sure the city is not far away from Stuttgart, the province's capital.

Lots of city visitors and locals gather together in Market Square near Ulrich Fountain, take a stroll along Friedrich Street, the city's main street.
I found Ulrich Fountain to be very attractive and interesting.
Like many other things about the city, it has a long history.
You can see a bronze figure of Ulrich the Knight.
He was the Duke in what is now county.
Duke Ulrich is revered by the city residents.
The original statue was made of sand stone and is kept at the local lore museum in Balingen.
I remember visiting the Castle in Balingen and having a stroll on its outskirts, climbing the mountains around Balingen and dining at its medieval restaurants.
