You know Lothar? It is a name for men. But what does Lothar has to do with the Black Forest? Well, on Christmas 1999, there was a storm in the Black Forest. The name of the storm was Lothar. This storm destroyed lots of trees, really lots of trees, which were so typically for the Black Forest, especially in the region of Baden Baden and in the south of Badeb Baden. I took this picture when hiking near Oberkirch to the Moosturm.

This is not a real danger......
If you are interested in a fun cuckoo clock, look in the pedestrian zone of Todtnau for a bakery. They sell cuckoo clocks of chocolate. For me, it could be a danger to eat these clocks........ lol

We were driving into the Forest from Baden-Baden and decided to park and go for a walk (which was great). Upon returning about 2 more inches of snow had fallen and were we had parked had a sheet of ice under the snow - the result was that we were stuck until another couple came along and helped up get the car out!!! But the good news is that this happens frequently and people help each other out.

Take care when there is a thunderstorm. There are still regions in the Black Forest where are no trees because of a thunderstorm at christmas some years ago.
