There are two beautiful churches in Dilsberg : one Catholic , and one Protestant .
Today's Catholic church originated from the medieval castle chapel of St. Oswald (around 1378).
The Protestant church was built in the neo-Gothic style in 1870-73.

Since 1923 the tradition of the night watch in Dilsberg lives in the custom of the New Year 's Eve Parade of the night watchmen when a group of 12 men strikes the tune :
"Listen , people and let us tell you :
Our bell has struck Twelve .
The old year is past ,
the new year has began .
We wish you all ,
the poor and the rich ,
we wish you all
a Happy New Year .
Praise God , the Lord . "
