These are traps in the literal sense of the word. Watch your steps in old Freiburg’s street. The open waterflows in the streets are sort of Freiburg’s trademark. Many streets have them. They are not deep and the water is no danger but stumbling over the edges can cause serious injuries. They are not protected, people are expected to watch out for them.
Legend tells that if you stumble into a Bächle you will stay in Freiburg forever and marry a local. Well, Freiburg is not a bad place to live, so think about it… It won’t work if you do it on purpose, though!
The waterflows are kept very clean. Bächleputzer is a unique local profession. The cleaners have even inspired a carnival guild to create a Bächleputzer as their costume.

What you see here is a city street along with a beautiful tower. The tower was nearly destroyed as it was crumbling down in many places--it would need quite a bit to restore it to it's former stature of beauty and charm.
Then along came McDonalds Fast Food Restaurants. They bought the property and then proceeded to put a restaurant inside the restored building. That appals me! They could have put the Mc Donalds somewhere else to preserve the beauty and the sanctity of the clock tower.
I urge everyone not to eat at that particular outlet, because they will pick up and move once they realise no one is buying their products!

Beware of it: One of these 'famous' Clock Shops! You find these kind of stores everywhere in the Black Forrest area!!
But if you like these expansive nonsens, please visit it!
This is a Clock shop in TITISEE.

Titisee in the Blackforest
Don't go to Titisee on a weekend in the summer-season!
Local people will never go there. There are so many people and the shops are only made for tourists. I think there are so many places in the blackforest which are much more typical.

Just forget the souvenir shops at Münster-Platz. They're very expensive and just sell useless stuff.
