We arrived by train. Wonderful system they have here in Germany.
This town is small enough you can walk most places. Take a taxi or the tram if you choose.

Bergbahn Heidelberg is the fastest and most convenicent way to get to the castle.
One way cost 3 EUR, therefore you might want to walk....
