    Herrenberg is located along one of Germanies Tourist Routes... the Framework Route. This route connects towns famous for their timerframed houses. On the webpage of Herrenberg you can get a good information about this interesting route and maybe you will find it a good idea for your next road trip.

    Inside Herrenberg you just need to walk around and you will find many very nice restored timberframed houses. I am sure you will like them.

    Unfortunately I couldn't visit the museum as I needed to head forward to Karlsruhe, nevertheless I admired the freely accessible bells outside the museum beside the Foundation Church.
    The museum itself is located inside the bell tower of the Foundation Church. On the webpage of the municipal of Herrenberg you can find information about the Bell Museum, but it is in German only.
    Here the key information (at the time of writing this tip valid for 2013):

    Opening times:
    April - October
    Wednesday 14.30 Uhr - 17.00
    Saturday 14.30 Uhr - 18.30
    Sunday /state holidays 11.30 Uhr - 17.00

    November - March
    Wednesday 14.30 Uhr - 16.00
    Saturday 17.00 Uhr - 18.30
    Sunday /state holidays 14.30 Uhr - 16.00

    Entrance Fee adults 3 Euro
    Other 1,5 Euro.
    Kids only with adults.

    Visit the Foundation Church located on top of a hill above the central part of Herrenberg.
    Construction of the first late gothic hall church started in 1276. Once you enter the church you can borrow a flyer that tells you about the different elements of the church.
    Outside the church and in the tower you will find the bell museum with a collection of more than 30 ringable bells. Some bells are also located outside the church building free accessible.
