The name "ice gorge" comes from the bizarre ice formations in winter. So don’t expect to see any ice in summer!
From the entry at the bridge "Argentobelbrücke" a path with many stairs goes down into the gorge. The path then is pretty wide and easy to go, you will pass some meadows and there are several nice places where you are directly at the little river "Obere Argen". The bank and river is pretty flat there, so you could take off your shoes and walk a bit through the river. A bit further on then finally come some waterfalls. A few little ones and a larger 18m high waterfall. That’s a great place to sit on the rocks and relax a bit! From here on the path gets smaller and goes up a bit. The next highlight is the place where the river has to find its way between some large rocks, with a platform from where you have a better view. We didn’t walk much longer as we unfortunately hadn’t too much time, so we turned here. It takes about 2 hours to walk through the gorge and back, and if you do so you’ll come across another waterfall.
You don’t have to walk the same way back through the gorge again, there are also other hiking paths. At the entrance you will get a flyer which has a basic map with all hiking paths and duration and also information on the sights in the gorge.

"Subway" is a new name for the club i used to go to as a teenager. It´s known as "Forum" and "Max" as well. I used to spend every weekend there, and it was great! Good music, nice ambience...everything. People from Austria, Swiss, Holland used to come over here, just to see the famous "Forum".
The last time i was there it was good too, but it was months ago. I held a snake for hours, and had to dance with it (and snake was very heavy) so i didn´t have much fun... but music was good:) If you ever come to Isny, go to "Subway", don´t miss it!

P.S. NO, not everyone who visits Isny has to dance with the snake or hold it. I was only a snake-mans assistant on that evening.

IT´S "FORUM" AGAIN!

Favorite thing: If you want to relax and enjoy beautifull nature (forests, lakes, etc) come to Isny. It is a small town, and some people say it was boring. But it´s right place to go, if you want to spend peacefull holidays in nature.
