In July and August there is an open air cinema in front of the Schloss Gottesaue - a spectacular place to enjoy open air movies. Especially, if the screen is 24 x 10 meters big!
They usually show very recent movies, but also all time classics like "Casablanca" or "Ben Hur"!
The movies start at 10 p.m. in July and at 9.30 p.m. in August.

The Schauburg also has a summer time open air theatre where they show only (best of my knowledge) german language movies. We first went here looking for the indoor theatre.
But hey. A beer garden with a movie. Now we're talking. Beer typically starts at 8pm (20hrs) with the film starting about 2 hours later.
