Bring plenty of memory for those cameras! by toonsarah, 1 more photos Take whatever sort of bag you prefer to use, but make sure there is a little spare capacity, as you will have some extra things to bring home. We were given various VT goodies, such as a t-shirt, cap and the brand new super flip-flops! VT friends may also be kind enough to bring you a memento of their home country or of themselves :) So thank you Hansi for the hand-knitted scarf, and Ingrid for the wine jelly and book! It’s a good job I’d left a little space in my bag for these things too.
If you’re planning to join any of the sightseeing tours, pack comfortable shoes (especially for cities with some cobbles) and for Karlsruhe it was important too to have lightweight clothing – summers here can be pretty hot. The evenings though are party time, so a pretty top or two will be useful.
Well, what can I say? A big VT meeting is really a big three day party, so you may just get a hangover – come prepared! Plus all the usual medical supplies, and sun protection of course.
Take lots of memory or film for your camera(s)! Remember, you are likely to be taking your usual sightseeing holiday shots and lots of photos of all your fellow VT-ers and the essential VT “food” images ;)
Perhaps you would like to bring a little something from your country too, to share with everyone else? I confess I didn’t think of this, but some people did, and their gifts were warmly received – thanks for the Toblerone, Patrick (aka Tripack)

Miracle tabs by Tripack Swiss pharmaceuticals are innovative, but German ones beat us once again with this miracle product Alkatrazer (no brand advertising permitted ;-) to recover from VT late party! Actually I need none... I got no hangover with German beers or maybe due to my endless dance @ the Panama Club ;-) Another tip: drink plenty of water before to sleep. Leave a Comment

I managed to go until Christmas without a coat. I was to have one brought to me by friends in late December but this fell through when the plans changed. Surprisingly all I needed was a sweater at worst all fall. Take good walking shoes. Leave a Comment

I can remember sitting on a beach in Paradise on the last day of my travels writing out loads and loads (over 25) postcards and hating it. I had to look in the address book and write all the addresses before I got started on the content. Then it hit me! Print labels ahead of time! No need for an address book at all or to write loads of addresses out! And if you are in a hurry, slap the label on and write ‘Quick note – love & miss you’. Job done. Leave a Comment

by tini58de Karlsruhe is a 'normal' European city, so everything from casual to fancy is fine.... Don't forget to pack some light clothes, because it is comparatively warm here!!! Leave a Comment
